Often demonstrated by talents from the streets along the east side of Cleveland, the humble beginning narrative also reverberates into Sav’s personality and lifestyle. On the contrary, don’t let him fool you. First implied by the title of his 2018 project, Look Me in the Eye, Sav’s request is more of a demand than it is an invitation.

His competitive drive, most likely rooted in his days spent playing basketball, developed into an early ambition focused on going to the NBA. His intensity and big presence on the court, translates profoundly into the music and consistency his sound embodies. His first body of work, Olympic Gold, released back in 2013, highlights his competitive focus from the jump. In a sense, his rough draft story is one of his athletic transition into the art-form of Rap. Influenced mainly by the sounds of Lil Wayne and Bone Thugs-n-Harmony, his music is not created to be easily digested.

Recording over cassette tapes on the bus ride to and from his high school in Cleveland, has now evolved into a professional career of studio sessions, music video shoots, and late nights. His team, Elevated Livin’, was formed during mutual time spent at Bowling Green University in Toledo, Ohio. A collaborative group combining the talents of J. Smith, J. Bell, A.D, Sav, and a developed street team, has turned into a powerhouse brand that represents an elevated way of life. Rough Draft Magazine also requested A.D. (Alex Davis) to comment on Sav, “it started in 2013 when he released his first studio album, Olympic Gold. I knew it was him all along but when he dropped that project, I was like..bet, we got something to work with now..lets go”

Over the years, Elevated Livin’ has developed into a dynamic team of versatile players that each have a role in elevating the brand. Not only elevating their brand but also providing insight to fellow industry professionals. During Sav’s conversation with Rough Draft Magazine, he included the fact that “rap provided me truth.” A.D. alluded to this truth that Sav mentioned when stating “I learned more about him (Sav) through his music than I ever did directly coming from him”.
