The Origins of Jazz
During the year of 1895, musician Buddy Bolden started his first band. As time progressed, he would become the first artist to develop the concept of Jazz. However, others suggest that Nick LaRocca has the rights the music genre’s (jazz) intellectual property from 1917.
LaRocca’s band was known as the Original Dixieland Jass Band. Although he couldn’t read sheet music, that did not stop him from playing the cornet or trumpet!
Moreover, jazz inspired a melting pot for many hip-hop and R&B artists. “"Music is an escape for a lot of people, me included and for some people music is a sneak peak of their personal realities", says artist Mehkai Orion.
As time progresses, new genres of music will approach with a wide array of fusions. The possibilities will be entirely endless!
